Simply passionate about fly fishing or simply mad about fly fishing, Sherpa Flies founded in 2012, was created with one idea in mind – to tie the world’s finest fly fishing flies. Using world-class materials we are determined to design state of the art modern flies no matter where or what you fish for.

Sherpa Flies started production in Nawalparasi district in South-Central Nepal on the edge of the country’s first national park. In the midst of this environmental abundance, there is also abject poverty where people earn a per capita income of US$ 3.80 per day.

We in Sherpa Flies truly believe in the importance of designing and producing fly fishing flies fairly. This has led us to push our creative boundaries with a sense of adventure utilizing the indigenous third (wisdom) eye. We share our passion for fly fishing with the local community many of whom were fisher folks. We also tap the skilled hand of housewives who are in dire need of alternative employment opportunities. Many of these women are themselves socially marginalized, often uneducated and vulnerable.

As a premium fly manufacturer, Sherpa Flies have a strong belief in corporate social responsibility and believe in fair trade. We take responsibility for the impact that our activities have on customers, employees, communities and the environment. Sherpa Fly Fishing Flies are tied in a countryside village
in southern Nepal, under a forward-thinking arrangement with Bhola Bickram Thapa, owner of President Group of companies in Nepal. He believes Nepalese people need more than charity.

They need good-paying, honest jobs they could rely on as they built a life outside the con nes of poverty.“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to sh and he’ll eat forever”. Our promise to the villagers, now enabling tiers to better provide for their families. The ies you see on our website are the work of their hands and their hopes.
